2018 Finance Bill passed in 36 mins without discussion
I came across the news that parliament ran for 36 mins on Mar 14, 2018 and cleared the entire Fiance Bill. Seriously, our MPs must have got superpower overnight to clear the Finance Bill in record time. When Bill was being introduced, you can hardly see any debate about the motions/amendments over a lousy session. Motions were moved by Fiance Minister, no one seconded it; without opening the motion to the floor for discussion, questions and answers; speaker directly asked for Yes/No votes. Even motions were approved in seconds when it is impossible to count Yes/No votes. Next financial year is dependent on what has passed today in 36 mins and many of us don't have a clue. Importantly, shady political donations (foreign funding) from 1976 onward will be legal now after FRCA Act amendment passed today. This is arrogance and weakness of the elected government and opponent.
